Gothik Radio Frankenstein - An Ugly Display Of Self Preservation

This CD holds Frankenstein's songs dating all the way back to 1979. Most of which have never been recorded. "An Ugly Display of Self Preservation" is the first full length Frankenstein release ever. Frankenstein relies on good old-fashioned rock and roll i.e. Iggy and The Stooges, Elvis Presley and a twist of the Cramps for flavour. “She Casts No Shadow” is the slowest track on the album personally also one of the best songs on the album along side “Jesus with a big V8” and “Black Lung”. “Flesh Garage” and “LoveCraft” pounds along with great energy. Great lyrics! Great vocals! Great mayhem.
This is a must for all horror punks. Almost reminds me of Screaming Jay Hawkins!

Gothik Radio Forbidden Dimension – a coffin full of crows

Forbidden Dimension – a coffin full of crows A reissue of classic horror-rock band Forbidden Dimensions. Featuring such songs as "Dial 'M' For Monster", "Ghosts Run Wild", "Tomorrow I Will Kill You", plus a bunch more. Also included is the first Forbidden Dimension 45 "Into the Forbidden Dimension". While the guitars are the driving force in this band, you end up wishing you could hear the drums a bit more as it is completely lost. The vocals at times also sound like they were recorded under water. However saying this tracks that really stood out were “Invisible Dimension”, and “A Coffin Named Desire”, perhaps because the tempo suddenly shifts and there are no under water effects on the vocals and they end up being very good songs. Also “Pickled Punks” is a great track with good guitar riffs.
Think Screaming Lord Sutch for this generation, crossed with Link Wray.

Gothik Radio Frustration - Full Of Sorrow

Wow!Absolutely blown away by this. This is incredible stuff.
Immediatly "Blind" and "Your Body" jumped out at me.Starting off with some keyboards followed by drums but very soon the powerful guitars kick in and it all just hits you right between the eyes!Leaving you gasping for more.
Powerful, potent and brutal post-punk. Kind of like WARSAW meet WIRE meet the FALL just to give you an idea of what to expect. Sometimes the vocals remind me of Spiral of Silence and Joy Division...only sometimes as this vocalist has so much pent up frustration and knows just how to let it loose. Theirs is an explosive cocktail with all the tension of retained violence and madness thundered through with agitated spasmodic drums and degenerate keyboards that will leave your head aching.
The only pity about this is that it is only 5 songs (6 including a live song) and believe me when it finishes you WILL want to only play it again.

Gothik Radio Fangs on Fur - Fangs on Fur

Interesting band this, more and more so if you start reading what they have to say, but ridiculously so, when you read what they have to say about themselves! Evidently they are about having fun, rocking hard and both in equal measures.
But then moving on to the music there is not much to fault them with. Reminding me of New Days Delay they have the same energy, same feel and atmosphere.
Fangs on Fur is the first track and is just a great anthem-like song. Starting of with syncopated drums and bass, joined shortly by the very melodic guitars the song starts rocking in full force when the voice kicks in - sometimes melodic but mostly an edgy manic sound in the voice. I really like this track a lot!
Cigarette continues where the first tracks left off. The same melodic guitars, the same edgy voice, the same rocking music. F-Boy F-Girl is far more punk and I can almost hear the Toy Dolls in this.
I must confess that from theis most unusual band comes a rather unusual offering that will strike a chord with many people that are into deathrock.
A great promo and I really am looking forward to them releasaing an album!
