Gothik Radio Moonrise - End Of Grace

Moonrise, following in the vein of bands suchs as Scream Silence, certainly know how to deliver. Recreating a sound that stands out against the usual plates they commit themselves to essentially a Gothic rock sound with a Wave-ish undertone.
Based on the foundation of demanding bass runs and a solid Drum section, the rhythmic leaves nothing to be desired.Interweaved into this a tapestry of sound, comes the some times melodic guitars, other times just relentless energy and atmospheric key boards to create the perfect symbiosis for a sense of melancholy and power.
At last comes the vocals that understand almost perfectly how to explore the emotional spectrum both in unusual melodies and desperate cries.
Traum Des Mondes starts with a sombre keyboard.Melancholy spills from the mouth of the vocalist. A guitar screeching disparately in the back ground. And soon enough the whole menagerie explodes in a beautiful emotional chorus. When I see you is a more traditional forward gothik rock number and reminds one of the Cascades or Scream Silence.
Very good EP this and well worth getting.

Gothik Radio Moldig - Moldig

From Italy comes this band of two impassioned musicians delivering us with a slice of cold-wave / post punk that is of the highest quality.
Where else but Italy, often I have wondered what it is about Italians?Listening to their bands - the quality of music they produce is outstanding. But also they have delivered some of the more obscure gems in this scene like the Dead Relatives etc.
The Treachery starts of this demo giving us the genral tone of things to come. Solid drums and a thin squeaking guitar all add to carry the serious, composed and at once beautiful voice of Giuditta.
An incredibly mature song for such a young band. This is not an attempt to do something good. They have done it!
A Game delivers more of the same post-punk of The Treachery.
Finally in 20 Seconds we hear a change of direction, something more cold wave creeps towards us in this track, and something of the Cure perhaps?
In conclusion:A great solid demo from a very talented band!I can not wait for their album which I am sure will be spectacular!
Highly Recommended

Gothik Radio Movement One - Various Artists

Str8line Records brings us a gem of a release in this compilation of predominantly Goth/Post Punk and New wave artist from France.Weaving together artists from different strands, and sometimes time, to present as a whole a disk that is impressive and utterly enjoyable!
Featuring artists such as De Volenges with an angry in your face sound, the more composed No Tears with Robert' Eyes. The legendary and timeless Brotherhood of Pagans who finally makes an appearance again, and hopefully will stay for a long timewith a great song in 'Only Once'.
Too many highlights to name on this compilation with Little Nemo, Wallenberg's fantastic 'The Swell', Joy Disaster, Noctule Sorix, Psychotique?, Jacquy Bitch too name but a few.
This is a must have in anyone's collection that is serious about Goth / Post Punk!
Highly recommened

The Mysterious Deadbeats - songs to die for (promo)

Guess you could call their music DEATHROCK as there’s a bit of Punk/Metal and Goth going on in what they do, well actually quite a lot of it!With influences like 45 Grave, The Misfits, Adam and the Ants,The Cramps, The Damned, Black Sabbath,Sisters of Mercy you almost know (or not) what to expect.“Gothic Chic” is a great tongue in cheek track with clear Misfits influences, fast and furious. “Needles” I think is a probably the strongest song with brilliant guitar work, driving drums and then a voice that brings it all just perfectly together. ”Children Shouldn’t play with dead things” is another fast and aggressive song followed by a slower paced “The last laugh” with Gothic undertones and all in all a great structure. “Breakdown” returns to punk - aggressive and furious!
I really hope these guys get to release a full album, as I am sure it will be, if nothing else, interesting!
